Default why does my car wobble?

on new years i slide around a circle and hit a curb in the snow (fresh snow ouch). the front passenger wheel was what hit the curb. the wheel was obviously bent in at the bottom. the car also pulled to the right. so i bring it to meineke thinking i need an alignment. they put it on the rack and see the control arm is bent. i replaced the control arm and the everything was back to normal. for the past week i noticed that after going above 70mph the steering gets very light and the front of the car seems wobbly. can anyone come on with some ideas on why this is happening?

Maybe all you need is an alignment.

My car when it is windy feels like the front of the car is floating around when I go about seventy. Maybe that is all that you are feeling?

Check the tire/wheel to see if they still run true.
Try rotating the tires and see if the problems moves to the rear. You may just need a re balance.

You could have also bent the hub or damaged the wheel bearing.

Did they balance your wheel? Snow or ice in it?

To summarize, something related to your steering, suspension, wheels, drive train or frame has been compromised.

Have any of your neighbors gone missing recently? one of them might be inside your subframe pushing against the control arm at speed down there, trying to get out.

Uneven tire wear can make for a vibrating steering wheel at speed, too.

You answered your own question, if you still have that wheel on there replace it. Bent wheels will cause wobble and eventually cause bearing failure. Dont try to have the wheel balanced because if it is bent no amount of counterweights will help it.

Better to spend the money for a new wheel than even more on replacing your bearings and anything else that could fail if the bearings fail in traffic.
