Default spark plug question on a built 2.5

Ok so i have an axxis power racings 2.5l Sti block in my 02 wrx. I do unfortunately have stock heads with it. I pulled my check engine codes and im miss-fireing in cylinders 2 and 4. Would this be caused by burnt out spark plugs or something wrong with the coil packs.

Also if anyone could suggest a spark plug type for my application then that would be great. I was thinking about going with the NGK platinum tips.

Ken

Default I doubt its your plugs.

Its pretty uncommon to have both plugs burn out. Its even more uncommon to have two coil packs go bad at the same time. Check the clearance on your valves. Most noteably your exhaust valves. I bet its that.

BKR7E

It's a one step colder copper plug. They cost like $1.80 each. I run them for about 2-3000 miles gapped at 0.030. Ron will recommend them too if you ask him.

I've tried a ton of different plugs - Denso iridiums (IK22, IK24 $$$), NGK platinum (PFR7B), etc. and I've had the best results with the BKR7E. You can't beat the price either. Part no. is 6097 at auto parts shops.

Well its been way over my time for spark plugs. Like 10 maybe even 15k since i last replaced them. I just always kept forgetting to do it and never got around to so i know i needa do them now. I wouldnt be suprised if they both burnt out on me.

Also if i were to check the exhaust valve clearance wouldnt that involve pulling the motor?
