Default Secor subaru, New London, Ct

I went in with the intent of trading my 05 srt-4 for an 08 wrx. So i walk in and look around. 10 mins go by and no one says anything to me, Im 25 and wear a hat, loose pants, and a northface jacket. So i decided to go find a person to talk to, first guy i talked to wouldnt give me the time of day, second guy answered a few questions but wouldnt give me a qoute or anything, third guy answered a few more questions and gave me a horrible qoute which i said was crap and wrote down a # more to what i was willing to pay. 23,300.00 for a base model. so after some haggling we agreed on 23,600.00. Then the next day i went in with my trade and had it appraised. 2005 srt-4 with 18k miles, in show room quality condition. they lowballed the hell out of me, offering me 11k for the trade. I asked what they use to price the trades, he replied NADA. So i whip out the Iphone and appraise the car on the NADA website, says 14,890 for trade in great condition. So i told and showed the guy my findings and he stated it must be wrong and that i was full of ****. That was the last draw, i said thatnk you for your time and i will never buy anything from you ever and i will be posting up a review of your service. Then i asked the sales manager where the next nearest subaru dealer was, he said Holmgren in Franklin. I walked out and drove to holmgren where i bought a WRX for $200 cheaper and they gave me blue book for my trade.

If anyone lives in or around ct and is thinking of going to secor.... dont, its a waste of time, there attitudes are horrible, and the service is the worst ive seen.

Thank you for telling us your story. If more people have negative to say, then we know which dealers to avoid.

So far, from
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1459489
this seems to be an isolated incident.

How did Holmgren treat you? Did you tell them Secor's offer before they give you a better price?

went back to secor today and picked up some winter floor mats. as i walked in one salesperson said "thats not cool what you said on the forums" I said in reply "im intitled to my opinion", and proceded to parts. other than that the parts and service people were very friendly. When i walked out none of the sales people would look at me.

I purchased a 2013 WRX from SECOR, the first time I walked in the salesmen blew me off. But after looking at the cars and walking back in they were more friendly. I ended up buying my car from them, and the rest of the experience was good. They defiantly need to work on first impressions.

The dealership across the street insulted me and I will never go there again. Mostly because they judged me before even talking to me.

I didn't purchase my car from Secor but I have had three services done there with mixed feelings. The first was my first service @ 3,750 miles. I made an appt and told them I would wait on the car. I also informed them that my passenger front window was very slow, this seems to be a recurring issue in the new WRX. I arrived just before my appointment time and waited about 10-15 min to get seen. Finally they pulled my car into the bay and started the service. 2 HOURS later I walked into the front office to see if my car was done and the front service man said he would check. He told me they still had to check the window. I then saw someone run to the car, roll the window up and down a few times then run back inside. At this point I was very mad and decided after they fixed my window I would not be returning. I paid for the my oil change and left. Not 10 minutes later the service manager called and informed me that I had a service plan for my car, I had no idea, and he would be cancelling the transaction and would call when the window regulator came in. Hail mary at the last second for Secor. Overall 5/10

Next was the window check up. Having mixed feelings still due to the bitterness from the oil change I told them again I would wait. After 45 minutes to an hour I got told my car was done. I was rather happy with the time and headed up to the front desk and thought maybe the oil change was isolated incident. Wrong. My receipt and paperwork had gotten switched and they gave it to another customer. So now someone has my name, VIN, phone number, address, make, model, blah blah blah. Not a concern for identity theft but from a business stand point, piss poor performance. Rather than wait around for them to reprint everything I took my keys and left. Overall performance 4/10

One last try, 7,500 mile service. I called in the middle of the week and scheduled my service for the following Monday around 1-2. I arrived at about 10:30 to drop it off due to being on my lunch break. I went back to work and before my original appointment time my car was finished and they said I could come pick it up before they closed. Overall performance 9/10 The guy at the front was kind of a dick but nothing to serious.

All in all if I was staying in this area for an amount of time to have my car serviced I would just drop it off so they could take their time and not have to deal with the service staff as half of them seem to have no clue what is going on. Dimitris above me went in for service and they said he had removed and O2 sensor from the car because his TBE had a plug for a second O2 sensor .
