Question TAMSCC Autocross Feb 24

Is anybody going to this? They are supposed to be allowing practice runs after the event. Only $10.

No one from Houston is interested in a short drive to college station? GGP is just as far for me.

I'd go if I didn't need to get on my bike for MS150 training. I plan on going to a couple TAMSCC and Spokes events starting in May.

It's gonna be a game time decision for me.

anyone know how long it takes to go from 249 and 1960 in houston to riverside at a&m?

the reason I ask is the storage facility where my tire trailer is at opens at 7AM, I believe registration is between 9-10AM, just seeing if I have time to get there is all.

Brian,
It Should be no problem. I don't think it's going to take much more than an hour to get there and you have approx 3. But then again I won't be towing a trailer , you could always retreive your trailer the night before.

Later,
Dustin

Looks like I was wrong about the time estimate. I talked to a buddy of mine here at work and it looks like an hour and half +/- ten minutes. still well within your window.

Later,
Dustin

Default A&M classifacation

I think I've already asked this question, but I've forgotten the answer.....

Does A&M offer STX, or am I'm going to have to run some other class?

More than likely you'll have to run ESP with me and Marty, as I don't think they have tire classes.

Btw, Allen, could you check the rulebook real quick and see if a turboback exhaust is illegal for STX? Thanks

Steve, I'll bring the rule book to this weekends event,... FYI, the NEW 2002 Solo rulebook, doesn't have a chapter on the new STX class. It states that all STS rules will carry over to STX, with very few exceptions, and that the new STX rules will be outlined in the next issue of Sportcar magazine....

Allen,

They mention a couple things in the new mag, but don't go into detail. They said there would be an addum (or however you spell it) to the rulebook for the class. Motor mounts WERE mentioned, and ordered the STi Group N last night I am assuming tranny mounts are too, so I got those as well.

I figured since my whole clutch assembly is getting replaced, I might as well get those installed "while they are in there"

Also, for the Austinites, let's meet again at TGIF @ 8am, that works well.

- Steve who will go coneless again!

Steve, If your looking at the Issue of Sportscar with the WRX Rally car on the cover, then that's the prior issue. I think the rules will be outline in the NEXT issue, but I could be wrong. I know there was a little blurb in this issue under "the fast track news" section about STX, but they don't go into detail. I was really miffed when I read through the 2002 Solo rulebook, and found nothing about STX,...

FYI, there's now a 50/50 chance that I may not be able to make it on Sunday. I have out-of-town guest coming to visit on Saturday, and I'm not sure how long they'll be hanging around.

For those of you that have nothing to do on Saturday afternoon, I'll be taking one of these guest for a spin down LC rd in Austin, so feel free to join in,... If you'd like.
