PWN3D I know I burned something, instable current when cold

I was doing something few months ago (I think I was installing Defis hooking up power to the stereo 12v)... I don't remember the details but there was some smoke coming out from the area where the deck sitss

"not again!" - thought I, but to my surpsise everything still worked

however few problems appeared:

1. deck resets itself 90% of the times when the car is shut of for more than few minutes
2. my turbo timer beeps (turns off and on) while I am driving (noticed it happens often on turns when I have the turn signal on)
3. when I start the car cold, I am having these issues;
-powersteering if weird (if I turn the wheel left and right, it wobbles as if the pump is broken and all lights in the car dim)
-defis turn on... then off, and do that for several times (happened first time last night, they couldn't get to stabilize untill 5th time )

when the car is warmed, it's all fine... well, lights dim when the rad vents go off, but that's more or less normal

bad battery?... car starts no problems, and voltage readings are fine

Check the wiring under the dash and look for signs of burned wires, especially where you noticed smoke coming from. Check the ground wires under the dash and clean them to make sure they are not causing some trouble. It sounds like there is a bad ground lead somewhere. You might go over the grounds under the hood also. For the radio memory problem check the memory wire connection to the radio. It may be green in color. Check the grounding to the radio also.

what about the "gauges dance" when the car is cold, and trying to die when turning the steering wheel? it does go away when warm.... I thought grounds were indifferent to the temps
