Default Where's the WRX Key-In Signal Wire

I'd like to set my alarm system to not arm if I leave the key in the ignition. I'd like to find the wire that tells the system to run the dinger. It's really inconvenient to have your car roll-up the windows, lock itself, and arm it's alarm with your keys still in the ignition lock.

ummm not to be silly, but usually my key is attached to the alarm key fob...

anyway, if you find the small beeper alarm, just tap off the lead from it...

Yes, that's part of the problem, the key fob is also attached to the key that is in the ignition. Which makes it really tough to get the key since the alarm will go off if I even approach the car without the fob to disarm it. FWIW it's a Viper system, and it's set to auto-arm if the doors are closed, and nothing happens for 60 seconds. I want to connect the key-in signal to the safety connector on the viper so that it will not auto-arm with the keys in the ignition.

ahhhh... you never mentioned about the aftermarket alarm with passive arming.

i lived with this on my previous daily. i just learn to open the doors and keep them open to prevent the passive arming.

anyway, one way is to wire the buzzer to the same leads as the door switch sensor. that way, it simulates an OPEN door condition.

the only thing is to use a diode to make sure nothing is blown up or shorted out...

Wouldn't that also cause the alarm to blink the dome light???? Or at least make it stay on all the time that the beeper is going off?

hence the diode. a diode works like a one way valve.
