Default 12.493@111.45 Stock Turbo 2.0 WRX

A little update:
I made it out to Atco on Saturday 2-28. The car still isn't running right, but much better then it was when it was breaking up at the end of last season after some much needed (again) maintenance thanks to Mello and PrecisionTuning. It still needs some more Junior magic to get it back trapping where it was. Anyway, I was able to beat my best time by a small margin. Here is the breakdown of the slip:

60'.....1.757
330....5.158
1/8....7.959
1000..10.419
1/4....12.487
MPH...109.45

I also made 13 other passes:
12.549
12.568
12.582
12.583
12.621
12.625
12.637
12.677
12.815
12.948
13.339
13.340
15.032

If I didn't do a burnout (totally nerve racking by the way) to get the water off of the tires, it would just spin like crazy. These passes were made at the same weight the car was at last year, which is just over 3,200 with me in the car.

Pic of all of the slips in post 232 HERE.

Engine
APS 65mm CAI
Perrin inlet
TXS MBC
Helix TMIC
Grimmspeed Ported TB (this is a new addition and really feels like it smoothes the transition into boost, A+)
SMC Alky Inj with 50/50 denatured alcohol/distilled water
JDM intake manifold
1 step colder plugs
Perrin pulley
Jet Hot coated header and uppipe combo
TXS Stealthback w/ 2.5 inch axleback

or
17x8.5 Racing Hart CP-035 with 245/40 Kumho Ecsta MX's
RacingBrake slotted rotors

JDM front bumper beam
Cusco Titanium front strut bar

Hello all,
I was able to log some time with Junior at THE SHOP CT on Friday for a new track tune. The results were better then I had even hoped for. In a hobby where all too often people and parts don't live up to expectations, I can honestly say that Junior's tunes are the best dollar for dollar mods I have had on any car that I've owned, period. Thanks again Junior!

Well, on to the good stuff, I got to the track today and was able to get in 8 (EDIT 10) passes with a 12.493@111.45 bettering my 12.527 from last year and a best trap of 112.64. The tune obviously has way more in it, but I couldn't get it together today. I ran at Cecil Dragway and had a really hard time getting it off the line, making me realize how spoiled I am to have Raceway Park as my go to track. The track was actually very well prepped, but my car wouldn't sit still on the line and I had to alternate between launching it off the e-brake and quick launching it, as you'll be able to see from my much varied times. Posted below are pics of the best ET and best trap slips and a list of all my times. I have video of the 12.493 pass as well, but will have to figure out how to get it off the new camera and posted.

I also wanted to say thanks to Rich and all the guys at Precision Tuning for squeezing me in for some much needed maintenance 2 weeks ago, awesome job as always.

EDIT: Found 2 more slips in my pocket when I paid the delivery guy.

God... I really really wanted to be at Cecil today... Just couldn't talk myself into making the trip. Were dug-e-fresh and mikaust there? Hopefully I'll see you up there in the next few weeks when I get some time to run!

No, Doug and Mikaust weren't there. There were only three Subies running today. Me, Paul and a black STI that broke. There was a guy there with a stock turbo, fmic, gray/black two-toned WRX that got flamed like crazy on here, but I thought it looked clean in person.

EDIT: Chances are that I won't run again at Cecil. It is a 2.5-3 hour drive for me to get there. I only made the drive today because Etown and ATCO were closed and I couldn't wait to run it.

Congrats Dave, when i drove the car last year at the shop i was amazed how fast it was for a stock turbo and the times reflect that. Nice tune Junior and damn good driving by yourself

Thanks Justin, you should feel it pull on this new tune. I was really only able to put one good run together today. I know at Etown, where I am much more comfortable launching, I could cut another tenth or two. But like Paul said, the clutch is pretty much cooked.

I wish you could drive my car as I suck at drag racing. I'm hoping to do ANOTHER tune this summer to eek out more HP from my little TD04 myself. Tell Junior he needs to come to Virginia Beach for vacation...I have a spare bedroom, access to two dynos, and an AccessPORT or Ecutek depending on his preference!

Thanks man, its amazing how much faster it feels. The tuning up top made a huge difference. It really pulls in fourth now! I definitely think it has 12.2's in it, maybe more. I rolled into it in third coming out of the last toll booth before the track on 95 and it completely slipped. I quick shifted into fourth and it slipped big time. I was actually pissed when I got to the track, but it held pretty good for a few runs, it didn't like being launched off the e-brake though.

Hey Jordon! She's doing great, walking around now and into everything. I am actually up with her right now and watching her all day today, which is why I travelled to Cecil since I couldn't make Etown today. I will definitely be in touch the next time I am heading down for drag/auto-x to see if you will be there. Are you still doing the grad school thing? How's it going?

If you could make that happen, I would definitely make that road trip. It would be cool to have two fast stock turbo cars run together. BTW, saw your crib, loved it! Are you at sea as we speak?

Thanks Dave! Although I drove like a complete basket case, except for one run yesterday. I need to come out to a meet and see you NJIC guys soon.

Yeah, it was great to meet you and all of the other guys that were in and out of the shop on Friday. Did Junior retune your car? Post up results from Etown, I am interested to see what it runs. 12.1 is cooking for 113 traps! I'll let you know the next time I'm heading down. I may try to run it one more time before I replace the clutch, as sometimes it holds, sometimes it doesn't.
