Question 06 2.5i + 06 STi springs = bettar?!?!

So, everyone knows the 2.5i springs were built for those clicky ball-point pens you get at your local dentist office. My question is would upgrading to the 06 STi springs make enough difference to justify the cost? Or, should I say, will I immediately notice an improvement in ride? Also, will the STi springs quicken the death of my struts (that have 40k miles on already) ?

I ran STi springs on my stock 2.5i struts for 15,000km or so. The drop is about 1" and the increase in spring rate makes it a worthwhile mod for sure, especially since used STi springs go for about $50. Your stock struts wont last as long as they would with 2.5i springs, but they aren't going to explode this month either.

Nice, I plan on driving the stock struts into the ground and upgrading to the GR2's or the other ones that escape my mind at this time.

Thanks

Not to be a jerk, but there is a specific section for Suspension on the forum. More info there.

yep yep.. which is why a 2 second search in the suspension forum would have answered all of your questions and then some.. without cluttering the NA power forum with things not pertaining to power.

Search your local forum.
Can find them low miles for $40

*Edit:
I'll tell you what. I'll put them on my car, and send you my stock springs, and you can stack them or inter-twine them with yours, so you'll have twice the spring rate, right?

The rate you get with the STi springs will be about the same as many other companies' spring rates with good quality. If you want something a little more stiff, i always like to suggest ground control springs and they are height adjustable and you can tell them the spring rates you want. I love mine..just my two cents.

STi take off give a decent drop. and seem to stiffen. I went with the Eibachs because they are supposed to be great with the stock struts and give a little more of a drop.....and I got em cheap =D +1 for the GF working at a aftermarket carparts warehouse
