I want rear seat leg room, a Legacy that actual adults can fit comfortably in.
I want a Legacy that is a price leader in the segment.
I want a Legacy that has a wagon option.
I want window frames.
I want Subaru to be a style leader, and not a follower. Actually, I want them to be influenced by no one.

We need a bigger Legacy, just a little and more aggressive look with over fender (flares), Recaro seats with alcantara, all STI stuff THIS IS FOR TURBO MODEL only. Don't forget the LED tails and high quality interior

LUXURY Model : no need for the recaro and alcantara, just bring all luxury stuff for this model Navi, TV .... etc

Luxury model : H6 / 3.6NA with 290 - 300 hp

Sport model (STI) : H6 / 3.0 TwinTurbo with 350 - 380 hp (With 8500rpm red line)
(SUBARU, please bring this car and i'll pay more than what you expect for this car )

No Need for H4, just keep it for small car like the new impreza

BRING THE STI LEGACY. PERIOD.

Offer common sense color choices and options that allow the buyer to be perfectly happy with what they have spent their $ on. Don't force them to buy more than they want....and DO NOT offer too little.

This LEGACY STI should stylistically compete with the premium brands...and either match or exceed the competitors performance.

This car would stand to not only attract the now grown up WRX/STI buyers...but the media splash over such a car would attract the attention of other sports sedan shoppers who have known about the WRX/STI performance...but whom would never purchase (or be seen in) a boy racer car.

If done right.....this car could have a huge impact on SUBARU's brand awareness.

I like the idea of a Luxury and Sport models. No offense but the "STi" moniker just makes me think "Boy Racer" and probably wouldn't want a Legacy branded with the STi on it. It needs a more sofisticated name for the premium model.

As for the millions of combinations, doubt we will ever see that. Subaru is a small company and can/will only crank out packages as it's a matter of production numbers. "Custom" orders aren't in the cards for a small sized company like SOA.

-mike

PS: Keep the ideas coming. When I get enough good feedback I'll tap into my resources and sources at SOA to get them the info.

I agree, except you won't see a 3.0 turbo car, if anything it'll be a 3.6 Turbo.

I would add in a 3rd option for the "Economy" model that is a 2.5L H4 Turbo Diesel with the best MPG of the bunch.

With the push for higher MPG from the govt, I doubt we will be seeing crazy performance versions of the Legacy.

Subaru just bring me the new diesel motor with a nice 6spd manual.

Rumor:

Heard from people inside SOA (fairly high) that the 2010 Legacy will be A6 sized with an H6 3.6L ~300hp NA motor and 6MT option.

Hmmm.... the BL Legacy was introduced April 22, 2003 and we're in 2008 already. Legacy model cycles have gone 1988, 1993, 1997, 2003.

That's a pretty nice rendering. I just hope they make the next Legacy bigger and with turbodiesel.

Subaru has been releasing lately.......
The Impreza and the Forester just don't look like Subaru's anymore.........
This is what i want....
3.6L Twin Turbo with 480HP
3.0L Twin Turbo with 400HP (Same as the the Subaru B11S Concept's engine)
3.0L Turbo Diesel with 300HP

Just want to make a correction here about the Legacy model cycle mentioned above:

US Market - Model Introductions -

1st Gen: Began 1990
2nd Gen: 1995
3rd Gen: 2000
4th Gen: 2005

So, 2010 sounds exactly right if the trend follows previous introductions.

I agree with KurB, the new Legacy needs more rear legroom, 36"+ and width the size of A6, 535, E Class or 9-5 wagons at minimum. It will need 300+ HP plus, saftey, video, nav, parking sensors. A B4 Blitzen would be nice. I moved from my 99 Legacy GT to a 2003 9-5 Aero Wagon for the size as we have two kids + dog. I can't go any smaller now. Also 80K, no problems and 135+ uphill going to Vegas, blowing away Cayenne S in roll on from 100 - 140. The only bummer is no AWD.

My loyalties are divided among Saab & Subaru, but the future has me leaning more to Saab, the new 9-3 XWD Aero Wagon looks great and 2010 is when the restyled 9-5 is due; 350+ HP, XWD and larger than current model.

I loved my Legacy GT, so I am holding out hope for a new larger Legacy or turbo Tribeca.

================================

Excuse me to correct your info,
You are talking about US model.
But If we talk about our model, europe and japaness model,

1st Gen: Began 1989
2nd Gen: 1994
3rd Gen: 1999
4th Gen: 2004

So, I believe we will see the new Legacy model few months later this year as 2009 model.

For example :

This is 2004 US model :

And This is 2004 Europe & Japaness model

At the risk of beating a dead horse, but LEGACY STI please. As someone mentioned earlier, give me nice appeal, luxury, and performance and I mean real performance a la RS4 level: 0-60 in low 4's; great grip; steady torque curve.... Give me power in the 400 hp/400 Ib-ft range.

KEEP STI, to me STI marks the subie equivalent of AMG or M, not boy racer and as an owner of an Impreza STI, I would like the next logical step in my auto history to be a Legacy STI...please.

Thanks,
Nawambo

I agree. If done right, it won't be boy racer—and especially at the MSRP it would be offered at ($40K+ I'm sure).

Diesel please.
WR Blue, please make it a color choice option.
Thicker tires - 215/45/17 suck, either do a 50 series or make the tire wider like 235/45/17 for extra cushioning.
Turbo models with more power.
Quad tip exhaust, because it looks cool.
More comfortable seats.
Better navigation unit - more features and built-in hard drive
Better stereo, but keep the subwoofer under the driver's seat.

Make an Outback sedan w/ a GT Turbo option and a diesel option. The reason why I never considered the current generation Outback sedan was because there was no turbo option, and the interior was the terrible looking taupe.

Taupe - stop offering this as the only interior choice for certain colors and models, it looks horrible. Offer a darker tan or brown interior at least. Taupe is an instant deal breaker to me.

More color choices and a choice on interior colors.

Special Order options for colors and interior combos that aren't normally available. WR Blue Legacy GT w/ Black leather interior - yes please.

All you need to remember is that STI is a division, essentially a company, not just a badge or edition. Just like ///M or AMG, really (though there's some big differences). Therefore anything with an "STI" badge means that it's been tuned/prepared by STI.
