When i went out to start my 2007 2.5i with 8300 miles on it this evening, it wouldnt start or turn over. After pushing it out of my garage and catching it in gear it started up but my CEL came on and my CRUISE light was blinking, the car wouldnt start back up after I shut it off so i had it towed to the local dealership and i am currently waiting to hear from them.
Does anyone have any idea as to what is wrong? Has anyone heard of this before? UPDATE: the dealer said its the clutch switch and it should be done by tommorow

The cruise control light flashes if the CEL goes off.
If you plug in an OBD-II into it, it will give you a code. You can search for it and it will tell you what it is. Autozone does this for free. As for your problem, I honestly do not know. |

Did you disconnect the battery or mess with any electronics whatsoever? If so, thats the culprit, its no biggie.

Somehow after disconnect the battery and reconnect, the car is harder to start the very first trial. I noticed that too.

Yeah, I am pretty sure that has something to do with the ECU controlling fuel and not anything being wrong. After reflashing my ECU, I have to turn the key to on (or crank it over for a second) and then to off and then start it or it wont start on the first attempt. happens to others, seems to be normal.

well everything happens as it normally would except the car wont start. the dealer said that this is caused by a bad clutch switch... its probally one of those things that goes wrong just by chance.

I always thought it was weird with the cruise light. I had a problem at about 12k with my 07 2.5i, it was overheating while sitting and the cruise light was on. Winds up something happened and I didn't have any coolant, all taken care of by my dealer.
I have been noticing that after braking hard or after driving for a while my light will come on, after turning off and cooling down it will go off though. Kind of sucks because dealer says there is nothing they can do if it isn't on when they are around. |

soooo why not drive like 30 mins away from the dealer, than back making it an hour trip and tell the dealer you will be doing this so they can come right out when the cars hot and see and hopefully bring it right inside
