Default Fuel Smell

I pulled my spark plugs yesterday to adjust my valve lash. The car had been sitting in the same spot for about 15hrs. When I pulled them, there was still a little bit of fuel on the plugs and you could smell the fuel pretty good.

Is this normal? If not what should I start looking at to find the problem?
