Default it has finally happened.... after months of waiting.. my new WRX has arrived

Wooo whoooo... I now have factory turbo power.
I miss my RS, it has sooo much great punch off the line, where the WRX needs to "get going". Of course I only have 89 miles on it, so I assume it will get better. Still, its one composed car. I am getting used to my new Kumho's now, they are rather impressive so far. It just boggles my mind how bad the RE92's actually are. Its truely a crime against all cars everywhere that this bastard tire is allowed to hold air. Its life would be much more fulfiling holding a bucket full of concrete and a 8 foot pole for volleyball. Or perhaps painted white or red and serving as a barrier for cars shod with "real" tires. I hear they are grinding up tires now and making horsetracks out of them in Europe. I think the old 92's would be adequate for that as well.

Anyway, not to get off track. The car is great. The RS is missed, and I now have an entirely new project car to play with... wua ha ha ha!

SCRAPPY "now boosted" DO

Cool Finally!

I had fun taking you for a ride at our mini meet (me & you ) at the spectrum. I could tell by the way you reacted that you wanted one from then on.
Welcome to 1000 mile frustration club.

What rims did you put on?

mvstype, I actually put on a set of wheels called the subaru optional 17" wheels. They only site I have ever found a picture of it, was on an Australian subaru web page. They look fantastic against the blue!

here is a picture of the wheels.

I am not sure, I will have to check. I bought my car at RENICK subaru. I know I got a good deal on them though. I got a GREAT deal at RENICK, I could not be more happy to do business there again. This being my 3rd subie and all. I bought the only set they had. I dont regret it at all, since I have never seen a subaru with those wheels ever!

Congrats Stephen, are you planning on putting enough miles on it to be able to run it in the March 3rd AutoX?

I have a vacation planned for one week in texas in March.

I will have to see which of these I wont be able to make. I need to drive my car too. As I need to rack up the mileage in order to get my 1000 miles on her..

By the way, I need a good price on a 22mm sway bar. Who has the best rate. I have been out of the loop for a while.

I have the Whiteline 18-22 Adjustable on my Wagon and I love it!

I got it from Irvine Subaru, but I'm sure alot of different vendors carry it.

Stephen,

Congrats on the Rims. You're the first car officially in the US with those things on them. They are from the Japanese B4.

There is another 'optional' rim that has yet to be mounted to a car in the US.

They're nice BUT... here's the catch. We don't think big brakes will fit under them. There is another wheel that I have that is also an STi unit that does not clear the stock WRX calipers. I don't know for sure as I've not had a chance to check them out.
Maybe I can do that sometime this week.

The wheels do look good on any color car. We had them on a blue car and they feed off the colors around them. Very nice.
