All I saw was the letters at first and it was obviously a piston.

Quick snap of proto 3 now ready to test fit.
It now forms a complete panel to cover the inside of the wing. This one has the 83mm top hat in the bottom for my cold air feed.

So hopefully this one should be absolutely spot on in all areas and fit perfect as is. Once this is fitted and i get my power steering lines back i can get the motor dropped back in.

What do you thing guys?

Okay guys,

Proto #3 of the wingsert is finished and slotted into place. Here it is just rested in with no fixings at all and as you can see it fits pretty much perfectly. Now it has a full molding of the inner wing so now makes for a much cleaner, tidier fitting part. Once this is bonded in i hope to make it look as much like an OEM part as possible.

Im really quite please at how this has come out.

Just this left to fit and the PAS lines to modify and then the bay will be ready to have the motor dropped back in.

Forgive me for not reading, but is that a V8 manifold you're using with your rails? If so...would you be willing to make another set to sell?

I made my own rails for my spec c manifold. Which is the same manifold as the JDM V8. I looked into getting rails made but i would need to sell a minimum of 10 sets just to break even and they would be sold at £230GBP

Looks great!

Are you going to paint the top of the radiator fluid header tank? Looks a little rusty.

Yes its got rust spots on it as its been blasted back to bare metal to be modified for the -6 fitting. That along with a few other parts are to be dropped at the powdercoaters tomorrow actually

It will be gloss black when it comes back

Cheers Chris,
If only i were more local to you and (RCM) i would come and get involved. Would be nice to get Matts input/feedback on some of my ideas etc.

Today i finished the perspex cutting template for the wingserts i hope to sell.

Also dropped off the boost pipes and PAS line to be modified. Dropped off yet more powdercoating and collected a load more stainless fasteners.

Progress is slow as its all the little things now.

Good work! I noticed the modification but was just asking. Shouldnt have really because it is almost obvious you would have fixed it.

Lol, no worries. I dropped it off yesterday. I have a few more parts to drop off today. These final stages before teh motor goes back in are really dragging. Its hard to keep motivated when youre always waiting on others.

Guys, Chris needs you to all vote one last time. He's currently less that 1% behind and needs one last big push to get him to win this. Remember its all going to be for Cancer Support

Please click the link at the bottom and vote car number 1

To all the guys following my build please can I have 2 minutes of your time.

My good friend Chris Buckler is entered in the final round of the Total Impreza magazine "Top Scoob" showdown.
He has one of the most beautifully built WR1s in the world and has been finished by Roger Clark Motorsport to an impeccable level.

Please can you follow the link below and vote for car number 1 and help Chris get his 520bhp monster to the top of the podium.

Chris is out to win this and will be donating all the proceeds of his winnings to a cancer support charity.

Please vote guys- car number 1

There's another thread floating around asking for votes and it's for car #7. I voted for that one already.
