Default Knock sensor P0325 - Any chance its not just the sensor itself?

Replaced my knock sensor due to P0325 (sensor malfunction) with a used one. It was cheap so i bought it.

Originally CEL would com on almost immediately after starting the car.
After I replaced it, CEL was off for a little over a week, and it now came back, same code. Reset it, came back on.

Is there anything else, or any other root cause that would give me a knock sensor malfunction, or that couuld be breaking em.

I dont think it was broken when the seller sent it to me since it worked for a while.

i dont want to buy a new one and have that go if something else it causing issues.

PO325 happened in the Forester, was intermittent also. I thought it may be something else triggering the sensor also, but it was the sensor itself.

When you put the other sensor in, did it have any corrosion on it? Your block may be corroded also. I used fine grit on the block before installing the new one. Some people have had luck lightly sanding the corroded sensor, I just figured for the trouble I'd get a new one (SGP, $75). The torque specs are light (11 lbs.), otherwise you'll damage the sensor.

it was coroded... and i did use 2000 grit to shine it up a little.

it was tightened only enough (by hand) to stay on.
