Question used treadmill - warning signs

So I went on craigslist to search for a used treadmill and found a couple close to home. Emailed the sellers and they told me to come take a look. So, what should I look out for when getting a used treadmill? Are there any signs of imminent failure?

Make sure it can run at every speed and incline.

The treadmill in our basement will work at no incline up to a certain speed, but because of something that went bad it will die if it's raised or at too fast of a speed. Something to do with the internal power supply IIRC.

Usually the discount isn't worth the wear, or the gas money you end up spending driving around these days.

If the plane is still there, it's an unpossible treadmill and you need to return to our dimension immediately.

Make sure planes can take off and land from it. You want the best.

Seriously:

Check underneat the reel thing and make sure theres not alot of dust/grease in there. They are a pain to clean and if there is a build up they will stink.

Make sure all the electronics work and as said before that the incline and speeds all function.

Seriously. Even if they never used it, they probably stood on it a couple times, and treadmills have weight limits.

I was about to say, if the seller is overweight, ask them if they have proof that it works.

Any treadmill I have ever owned seemed to lose it's incline function first, followed by electronics.

I would go for one with a heavier duty motor in them. The cheaper ones, with the cheaper motors, tend not to last as long. Especially if used for jogging/running since they are better suited for walking.

Other than that... just look for one without much apparent wear. Low belt wear, handle wear, etc, all functions working, etc. Good luck!

use it as an SRT4 dyno, no sence in spinning 2wheels for powa when one wheel will only put the power down.

That's because they bought it new, paid a fortune for it, used it 3 times, and want to recoup their losses
