Default Scoop replacement, 1998 LGT?

Is there a larger, more functional scoop I could put on my 1998 LGT? I'm wanting to run a TMIC from a forester or something when I turbo the motor (257 shortblock), and want more airflow over it.

I came across a thread somewhere that because the Legacy scoop is physically wider, even though it's not as tall as the STi scoop the airflow characteristics are almost comparable - and better than the regular WRX. I'm not sure how scientific this speculation was, but it may be worth looking around for it.

Since the JDM sedans have the same scoop with tmic it would probably be fine. The wagon scoop though is closer to the front and larger

In the US all BD/BG/BK hoods with scoops are exactly the same. Are they different in Japan?

From knowing some people in Japan, I know that the Legacy scoop, while shorter, actually gets the same, if not more, air than the Impreza scoop. The longer hood allows more air to flow into the scoop, whereas the Impreza scoop HAS to be higher, because the front of the car is pushing the air up and over the scoop.

Bottom line, you can use the factory scoop just fine.
