Notes:

First off I would like to public thank David for his business. The 2008 STi in that dark silver looks amazing. We however need to work on our 60ft times .

This vehicle is equipped with our BMI Cold Air System and a COBB APv2.0 with an AMR S1 map. Laying down 270whp and 280wtq on our dyno (which from all our posts you know already, stock is 201whp / 225wtq).

So POWER vs MPH figures for the 2008 on our dyno would be:

260-270whp = 108-110mph
300-310whp = 110-112mph

Ditto, you know the car has a low 1.7 in it (low 1.6 with the aid of VHT), this is a 12.7 car no question. Congrats guys.

Isn't every .1 off 60' supposed to equal .2 in the 1/4 mile? That is some beast though.

Do a quick slip/drop of the clutch at 4500-5000.

At first glance I was thinking, ok so it only trapped 109mph because it wasn't running 100oct. Then I noticed that it is on the stock downpipe...wtf. So an '08 STI with just a CAI and a tune by AMR can trap over 108mph?! What was the average trap for all his runs?

That is just nuts. Is this on 93 octane (we get 94 up here)? I might just have to take a trip down to the US to see you guys.

Great job.

alright, I went to the track last night and I have a few questions. I picked up an AMR CAI and am completely stock otherwise. I am tuned for our pump gas 90 oct (lame). Added a little Torco and I got an awesome launch, however once I shift into 4th, the car just really bogs down. I know I can run a 12 with the car as is, not adding anything else other than the driver mod, but when are you shifting into 4th? are you taking it all the way to redline? My trap speeds were no where even close to you and it was relatively cool last night, 64 deg.

My times in comparison to David's:

+.1281 RT
1.7799 60 ft
5.3527 330 ft
7.7717 ET @ 594 ft
8.3178 1/8 ET
82.40 1/8 mph
13.1218 1/4 ET
101.80 1/4 mph

I shifted into 4th at redline, but it really bogged down.... should I try shifting closer to 5K?? any words of wisdom for the next trip?

wheres your redline at? use amr's dyno plot and plug the power and the gear ratios into a shift point calculator....looks like the power nose dives after 6250rpm

you picked up almost 25mph in the back 1/8

thats unheard of from a subaru. Even the big turbo guys are only getting 22-24 on the back 1/8.

is this another case of an erroneously timed slip?

83 mph to 108 is a huge jump.

I'm tuned by Jared from PDX Tuning. and yes, you CANNOT run this CAI without a tune, so don't even try it or you'll be running so lean you'll blow your motor.

and he's not the only one running 12's with just this intake and tune. one of the PR guys also ran 12's in his car, another place, etc. So, I don't believe it's not possible, especially since I just ran a 13.12 on freaking 90 octane.

there are specific calculations for the loss of power between the crank and the wheels but generally, our AWDs lose about 100 hp between the crank and wheels. So the Subaru rating of 305hp -> about 200 to the wheels seems legit... not to mention I was just talking to Jon (HB Speed) and he was telling me that stock 08 STI's make barely 200 to the wheels on a good day.

With a simple dynotune w/no mods (other than a good tuner) however its a completely different story of course. Jon tuned a bone stock 08 STI to 280whp/300wtq

stock mapping on the 08 STI sucks. Also, I will add, it's completely different from any other STI. We have an 07 STI as well, and I can't stress enough how much different it is.

I didn't want to point it out, but since you did.
Look at the 330 on this mid 9 sec pass, **** I don't think I went faster then 4.65 to the 330 on a 11.0 pass... And even at that it was with low 1.6 60fts...

he = she (ME) = AKLGT (personal account)

Also, as I stated, I'm running on a 90 oct tune, however, I feel very strongly that I can obtain 12's in the car as is with a few minor adjustments. I'm not a newb to the 1320 or autox or rallyx, but this is a new car and also doing this in an MT vs my AT (which ran 12's) LGT. I know my time is getting hurt once I shift into 4th gear, so I'm thinking if I do everything the same as last time, but shift about 5500 rpm vs 6500 rpm, that will drop me back down to about 3500-3800 rpm which "should" land me in what seems to be my "sweet spot." Next T&T will be June 11, so I guess I'll see then unless I take her out this coming weekend.... but I hate running on the weekend because too many cars so I don't get as many runs.

regardless of trap speeds, it is completely possibly to run 12's on this intake and tune alone. If I had a race map, I'm sure I would have easily hit high 12's last night. I'm not sure how they got 108 trap speeds though as the fastest trap i got last night was 103.4 mph but my time was 13.58 there abouts. wierd.

Those 330FT are faster than my 330FT on my best pass (10.88). Like a few people have mention... that is not possible! especially with a 2.05 60 FT (I had a 1.55 60 ft). Now running 12's with those mods is completely believable (seen it a few times).
