I almost bought these, but then I got this response from Jaime at subarugenuineparts.com It looks like Subaru is getting very strict on these now.

"To order with Subaru bucks:

First off, Subaru bucks must be in YOUR NAME ONLY
we cannot accept any Subaru bucks in the name of another party, no exceptions.

Subaru bucks shipping - we only ship to the address on the Subaru Bucks, no exceptions

Subaru Bucks are a one time use item, there is no 'change' available
so be sure to use them to their full amount if possible.

If the total of your purchase is more than the total of your Subaru Bucks:
You will need to include payment (check or credit card ) for the additional cost.

Subaru Bucks must be mailed in for redemption.
We cannot ship any orders until the payment has arrived

Subaru Bucks are good for oem factory SUBARU parts and accessories only.
No inno, no ebc, no grillcraft, rockblocker, etc.

To order on the internet & redeem your Subaru Bucks:
1) place your order on our site for the desired items - leave a note in comments that you are mailing in subaru bucks

2) for the balance due (shipping or other), enter your credit card, or choose the option to pay with check or money order

3) credit cards are not automatically charged, we will review the balance due and charge accordingly once the Bucks have arrived

4) print your order, and mail it in along with your Subaru Bucks

Send copy of your internet order along with your Subaru Bucks to:
Chaplins Subaru
Attn: Jamie/subarugenuineparts.com
15000 SE Eastgate Way
Bellevue, WA 98007

Let me know if this leaves you with any other questions.
Many thanks for your interest!

They've been strict like that for years. Dealerships don't really care that much though. People buy and sell these all the time.

My question is what happens if these get lost in the mail. Who loses the money? You or the buyer?

These won't get lost in the mail, that is why I send them via USPS Certified Mail:

With Certified Mail™ you can be sure your article arrived at its destination with access to online delivery information.

I think you are serious, but certified mail isn't magical. It just tells you it got there. It can still get lost, destroyed in a sorting machine, or burnt up when the delivery truck gets in an accident and bursts into flames. You get my point. There is no insurance and these cannot be replaced. I usually put them in a box and insure them. It costs a little more, but it saves everyone the headache if something happens.
