Crutching along an old junker that keeps fouling plugs on a bad cylinder (usually with oil from blow-by) so it can get by running on all cylinders until the inevitable trip to the mechanic or junkyard. Enthusiasts have just found an alternate reason to buy them.



And as a late comment on this thread: This is exactly how a write-up should be, even if the info is already out there. The OP did an excellent job of explaining and documenting.

Thanks ArthurDent. I had so much trouble finding a clear, well documented post on how to fix this that I made sure to do it right for all others who were to get the same lousy results.

Thanks to all for the positive comments! I no longer own a WRX, so I'm not on NASIOC much at all anymore unless I get a PM, but I'm glad this post continues to benefit the community.
