Default super tech syn & dino UOA

I have wanted to see how it actually holds up in a uoa for some time now. Being that we now have 2 "08 forester in the house I figured it would be a good chance to see. Both vehicles are NA and travel a similar commute each week. Roughly 15-20 miles each way about 10-15 of which is freeway, Avg. travel time 20-30min depending on traffic.

Keep in mind the high wear metals are from the engines breaking in as both have ~3k on them. As I expected both the dino and syn sheared down to a 20 weight. Also should add Super Tech is supplied to the wallyworld by the lowest bidder, which at this point in time is exxon mobile for the dino 5w30 and Warren Distribution for the syn 5w30.

I was curious myself, I'm glad I came across this. I've always wondered who supplied the oil for WallyWorld super crap.

^^ it is not that hard to find out. Each weight in dino, synthetic, or blend (same for gear oil, trans) can be provided by a different supplier. All one has to do to find out is search their msds sheets for each oil. My curiosity was if it is a lessor grade then what the supplier for walyworld sells out right. IE: is the exxon mobile supplied to walmart a lesser grade then the mobile brand name bottle. From some of the past UOAs I have seen from mobile 5w30 dino, it appears to be the same. A VOA would tell more though.

Walmart msds sheets can be found here, http://msds.walmartstores.com/ Some of their motorcycle oil is actually Bel-Ray synthetic at times. Good to keep an eye on if you want a deal.

Wally-World's oil filters have also had some pretty good reviews. RP
