Default Will stock rotors and calipers work on a rear 04 sti hubs and knuckle?

I've read the swap threads. But there was no clear answer on this. I want to keep my swap price down as much as possible. I can go to r180 rear end but i need hub and knuckles. If i use the hub and knuckles can I use the stock wrx calipers and rotors?

It sounds like you cant do this because of the Hand brake. But I am not sure.

Thanks,

You can't use single pot WRX rear calipers on R180 rear hubs. The caliper mounting bracket mount holes are different and the R180 E-brake is 20mm bigger in diameter. You can use your R160 hubs with adapter axles available from the Drive Shaft Shop, but they will probably run you more than a rear Brembo setup.

I measured the 04 sti rear axles where they meet in the Knuckles. And are the same size and spline count. as My rex. So i dont see why you couldn't use your knuckles from the rex and the axles from an 04 sti. Any other years i can not vouch for.BUT. I am very interested, me and a buddy are both doing this as we speak. As far as the brakes go i believe 4on4loor is right.

So the sti rear axles will mate with wrx hubs with no problem? why does the swap thread say they wont?

*For those wanting to use the R180 but not switch out the hubs, Apparently driveshaftshop.com offers custom axles (pricey) that allow you to retain the wrx hubs while using the R180 rear end.
