Past few days after i installed a FMIC on my car it will sometimes start to overheat when at a red light or stop sign never when im driving, but my heat still works 100% and radiator fans work. When i start accelerating the temp goes down back to normal then will rise again sometimes i burbed my system for air bubbles twice to see if that would help but i guess it didnt, my car has 123k miles new water pump, thermostat, T-chain, and radiator cap. Also its cold out below freezing which is weird why it would overheat thinking maybe its my radiator on its way out i heard they go on subbys around 100k miles???? Also i touch my radiator cap its not hot but the top hose is warm/hot very weird anyone got ideas????

or your FMIC is blocking the air flow across the radiator at idle, you may need stronger fans to pull more air through there.
Does the car consume coolant? Have you had the cooling system pressure tested? |

Don't consume coolant, and no haven't had it tested yet but i see a very small bubble coming outa my coolant reservoir every like 30-45seconds and when i first ran my FMIC I didn't have any reservoir attached so im thinking maybe my coolant system got air into it but i tried to burp it by opening the radiator cap max heat to floor and let it sit for 10 or so min is that correct i didn't touch the throttle or anything???

Only reason i don't think its the head gasket is because the car never did this before i put in the FMIC a few days ago and it didn't do it at first, only like 2-3 days after and it progressively does it less and less??? Soooo weird

could it be because my reservoir is a soda bottle empty of coruse filled with coolant and on a weird angle??? sometimes coolant fills up over the soda bottle and spills out on my engine RARELY...?

I put back my normal coolant reservoir and removed the soda bottle i had when i dumped the coolant out of the bottle i saw there was a little greenish dark slime on the bottom of the bottle what is that does this mean i need to flush my coolant could that be clogging up my system???

It's probably a combination of an air bubble (or possibly that green slime in your system), and the FMIC blocking air to your radiator.

Bad day.....so today i was driving to my friends house from school on my way there i noticed my temp gauge was going up FAST hit the red which normally before it would only go up when i would stop at a light or something i thought it actually was getting better.....guess not.... so i pulled over turned the car off popped the hood noticed coolant sprayed outta the overflow bottle let it sit blasted the heat ....waited 5-10min started it up temp was back to normal but idle sounded weird and i noticed white smoke coming outta my tail pipe....drove it 1/4 mile started overheating again went into the red pulled over again called tow truck was towed to the shop i take my car to....I'm thinking head gasket????? Also i checked my oil and coolant both good they didn't mix so weird i know that don't always happen with blown head gasket but anyone got ideas???
