Default Canadian Rally

Hey guys I'm thinking about driving up in May for the Rally in Calgary. What I wanted to know is how it compares to the U.S. circut. Is it worth the 500 mile journey North? How many of you guys will be attending or racing?

Thanks

I've been to the Calgary one last year and plan on attending again this year in addition I also went to Bemidji, MN for a SCCA rally.

There's more cars in the SCCA ones but I'd have to say that the Calgary one is breathtaking in terms of scenery. I'm sure you'd have fun.

Hope to see you there.

I wonder if it will snow this year?

Didn't it snow last year, I seem to remember snow and thunder too! Really!

My significant other and myself are planning on driving from Ottawa to Edison and Calgary for the two rallies in Alberta. Should make a nice road trip and visit to the praries. Anyone else from the Ottawa area crazy enough to drive that distance?

Last year i went to the WRX test drive in Calgary in the morning, then back up to Edmonton, and then left for Edson that nite for Big Horn.
That was a cool rally. Half the adventure was trying to find the damn spectator points in the middle of nowhere. Heh.

I was rallied out, and couldn't make it to the Rocky Mountain Rally in Calgary the next weekend. Ate too much dust in Edson. I hope to go to Rocky this year and hook w/ the local impreza guys. They said they had a good time. I think.....can't remember.

No idea what day we're going through the praries. Christine wants to take the civic and I don't want it any way but the Subaru. We're not 100% positive we're going yet as it depends on funds and vacation time. I will certainly post up here when the plans are complete; may help too if anyone has a place to crash, be it a yard to pitch the tent or whatever (we'll have our dog so hotels are difficult).

I marhsalled last year for rocky and I have to say that it was quite the experience. I'm going to be marshalling again for rocky, and I want to try and make edson to spectate...assuming I am not doing scoring for both this year.

I lived in the prairies for 4 years and every time I return I sorta feel this prairie homesickness thing. Just looking at those photos makes me look forward to driving there...
