Need some assistance plz!

I'm still new to my car and driving in general but I want to start doing a lot of the maintenance work myself so i'd appreciate it if someone can tell me what kind of oil i should use for changing my transmission fluid/oil and how to change the cars oil(I don't know the name of it but the one u change every 3,000 miles) thanks!
