Default Synapse EWG install help

ok i just got a synapse ewg....now all i need to do is figure out where to run all the vac lines for the prodrive bcs.

This is what i was told first:
From top to bottom you have Ports A, B, C & D

Like any regular wastegate Ports A&B are the top port, and keep the wastegate closed

Like all other wastegates Ports C&D are the bottom port, and open the wastegate

1) Run a boost-only source (from the compressor) to either port C or D. You choose the port to setup your lowest, fail safe boost level.

2) Tee off that port and run it to the the boost control solenoid (BCS). You will connect it to the port on the BCS that you cannot blow through

3) On the BCS, there is a port that opens up to the closed port when it is energized.

4) Connect that port #3 on the BCS, to A&B tee'd off together

5) When you program the duty cycle percentages, the more duty cycle you give it, the higher the boost.

But i was looking around on how people did installs of their ewg...and everyone says to run a vac line from the turbo to the bottom of the ewg, and tee that off and run it to the silver port on the prodrive bcs, then run another line from the top port on the bcs to the top port of the ewg, and the other port to the intake.

these 2 ways are contradicting...anyone with a clear answer?

Good LUCK!!!! The Synapse is NOTHING like a Tial, Turbosmart, HKS, etc.

A buddy of mine runs one of these & we've been fighting it from day one. He spent countless hours on the phone with their tech support to finally their tech support saying 'we think we got it figured out'. We were trying to run it with a GM BCS using a single port, you would think it would be an easy hook up. Problem after problem, we'd get it to work properly if you went WOT, but if you 'rolled' into the boost the WG wouldn't open at all. Then his motor went out & he's been breaking the new one in for the last few weeks w/o boost.

The thing totally over engineered, I'm surprised it doesn't change your oil for you or spit shine your wheels too. For anyone looking into getting one, I'd recommend against it. Go with a the tried & true Tial. There is something said for a simple device doing a simple job.

Update for advanced boost control strategy
I recommend that you only use this configuration if you are an experienced tuner. Using port B has the potential, in all but one configuration, for the wastegate not to open under boost. This is why we don't supply a fitting for it or have it in the general instructions.

Hondata or AEM EMS or Motec or other ECU using a GM boost control solenoid -

1) Determine which of the six combinations of Port A, Port B and Port C you would like to use to produce your lowest desired boost pressure.

2) Connect a boost signal source to GM solenoid input, connect the output to Port B (unused port).

Ideally, 1 and 2 would have their own individual port on the intake manifold.

I have to credit Harvey at Holeshot Racing for nailing down and testing this configuration. You know your ***** Harv, he understood it in the first 5 minutes he played with the Synchronic Wastegate.

Nice, got any pictures of how it was welded up? Any issues with fitment? What combination of ports are you using to get 10 psi?

Sorry about all the questions but I have one of these in my shop waiting to be tig'd into place.

Bump for a better mousetrap!

I used the grimmspeed ewg uppipe. welds are great, fitment is perfect! the dump pipe is about a finger distance from the axle and its heat coated so its great. From the compressor i ran a vac line to a tee, then from that tee went to the bcs and port D on the ewg. And the top port on the bcs i sent to Ports A&B teed together. Its pretty much exactly like it says in the tuning manual that came with the wastegate(there is a chart that shows how much boost u will bet when running from the compressor to each port). and holy $h!+ my car sounds HELLA MEAN!!!!!!!!!! and no i didnt get any pics. not that i could put them up here anyways haha.

Sorry to pull this thread from the dead but I cant find the info I'm looking for anywhere. I also have a synapse ewg and I would like to adjust it but I cannot find the manual anywhere online. Do you still have access to the tuning manual vanillajuice? I found a chart online for a 50mm but mine is 40mm. Any help would be appreciated.
