Default what O2 sensor bypass works?

A friend of mine has a 98 Legacy and keeps damaging the rear cat. Replaced it once and recently smashed it again, but each time it gets damaged the CEL light comes on and the engine runs bad and sucks gas.

Can a 2.2k Ohm resistor work or is there a plug and play product that will work to fix the CEL light?

I have to ask - how the hell does your friend keep managing to destroy the cat?

Can't help you on fooling the ECU.

I would think it would be easier and cheaper to NOT run over things with his car. At least, that's how I'd fix a problem like that.

Oh, and I don't know how to fool the ECU either, nor do I quite understand why the car would start sucking gas just because of a failing 3rd cat.
