Default P0440 Cel

I'm getting the P0440 cel which is the EVAP emission control system malfunction. I just had my car past inspection a few days ago so I don't think its my gas cap. Checked for broken vacuum hoses with no luck. Any know a fix that may help, thanks

1998 Subaru legacy 2.2, auto, 123,000 miles, car drives fine with no power lost. Just the check engine light is annoying to see.

Try resetting the code and see if it comes back. You may have driven around with a loose gas cap once and it just needs to be cleared?
