Impreza WRX STi Full USDM STi Drivetrain into MY06 2.5i

Hey guys,

Before everyone starts jumping on me about how this isn't a worthwhile swap, etc etc... for me, it is worthwhile, and I have already sourced out a complete setup and and done some preliminary research (but looking for more in-depth knowledge of what I'm getting into), so please, save the bashing for newer noobs! With that said, I do have a couple questions involving wiring, first off let me explain what I have what is going to be (and when I say 'new' I mean as in what’s going into the car, not ‘factory’ new)....

Current car: 2006 Impreza 2.5i

engine: stock EJ253
tranny: stock 5-spd
ECU: stock 2006 2.5i ECU

New engine: 2006 EJ257
new tranny: 2005 sti 6-speed (w/ DCCD controller), axles, hubs, rear diff, driveshaft, everything
new ECU: 2006 sti ecu w/ complete wiring harness

The setup is complete, I’m just listing the essentials for questioning purposes, which leads me into them:

Questions:

I have been told that because my car is MY06 and the new ECU and wiring harness is from an MY06 (STi), everything (including accessory’s such as power windows, locks, headlights, wipers, etc) will be plug and play. Is this correct? If not, what will not be plug and play?

Are any of the accessory wires “meshed” into the EJ253 motor harness, which require splicing, and splitting them into my new ECU?

Will I run into problems using an 05 DCCD controller with an 06 STi ECU because of the difference in torque biasing between MY05 and MY06? I know the controller is responsible for the actual split, but is the 06 STi ECU only programmed to accept an 06 DCCD controller?
I realize the first two questions are repetitive, but I just want to make sure I cover everything.

If anyone has any insight in the project, please feel free to add to this thread. I appreciate all the help guys, and I’m looking forward to a week of wrenchin’ come May.

***
Anyone in the southwestern CT region (or if you feel like making the drive) is more then welcome to join in. Beers and dogs on me for a good days help!

sigh
your reasearch sucks
a new 06 ecu is pretty much worthless unless your a subaru dealer
you need the entire immobilizer setup a key and a dealer willing to link them together

the harness is 90% different
the best thing to do would be to pull the dash and swap everything forward including the auto HVAC system

if your asking this, its WAY WAY over your head

a call to east coast swappers is in order

Impreza WRX STi

This is exactly what I WASN'T looking for, I am getting an immobilizer + key and the HVAC system. If you read, I said I have everything for the swap, just listed the essentials. Everything forward will be swapped.

"everything for a swap" doesn't mean the same thing to everyone

how about the ABS system .. which is needed for the dccd controller

Damn...I just drove my buddies 05 WRX the other day that he just finished up and he said he put down around 300 whp. After driving that, my car seems little more than average. I may be in line to do this as well in the near future, so make sure to post up good details so I can hopefully follow in your footsteps next spring! Good luck man, I hope everything will work out for ya!
