Default How to pass OBD2 Emissions w/ JDM v5 EJ207 engine?

Hey all,

I'm contemplating buying a car out of state that is a 98' 2.5rs GC Coupe swap w/ a v5 EJ207 STi engine/drivetrain. Problem of course is that it's JDM and does not have an OBD port. I live in Washington and may eventually be moving the car down to CA within a year or so. Does anyone know of any ways to get through emissions with said car?

Thanks in advance,

What year GC is it swapped into? If it is a pre-1995 GC, then I'm sure you are all set; it is that way here in CT. Pre-1995 vehicles do not go through OBDII emission testing. Instead, they go through OBDI, which is commonly known as the "sniffer".

Sorry, I forgot to mention that it's a 1998 2.5RS body/VIN.

In that case, unless you can get someone who works at an emissions place to pull a fast one, I believe it is impossible for you to get through emissions.

No such thing as an ECU or an OBD port-add on tool compliant with obd-2?
