Default Vishnu Unichip install problems

I'm trying to get wire in a Unichip from Vishnu and am having problems getting it going now. Actually it won't start at all (it does crank though just no spark). Per the diagram I've got it installed correctly I think.

Anybody else have advice on wiring this? Is there a chance the Unichip may be bad? I really need to get this going today as I've got a turbo back exhaust, up-pipe, gaugepod, and three gauges that need to be installed.

Todd,

I'm away from the office right now so all I can do is offer some on-line support. For now, unplug the Unichip and plug in the bypass connector. This takes the Unichip completely out of the system and joins back together the stock signals. The car should start and run just like stock. If it doesn't, then there is something wrong with the wiring work.

Lemme know...

Shiv -

Like you suggested, I've got one of the guys here in Charlotte that'll be bringing his Unichip by in the morning to test. I'll follow up thereafter and let you know either way.

Thanks again,

Todd

P.S. In case anybody is wondering about Shiv's customer service - it's A+++. He's been there everytime that I've called and now even on the weekend

Just give me a call tomorrow and I'm sure we can figure out what's going on. BTW you never told me if it ran ok w/ the bypass connector for the Unichip in place?

--Matt

PS. Todd's right about Shiv... he's got to be the single hardest working guy I know. Now what do I win?

Matt -

It starts and runs w/the bypass in but won't run with the Unichip in place. Chris said that he'll be coming by mid-morning tomorrow so I'll let you know. Anyhow, thanks for your help earlier.

Ya Shiv! Chris G. came over today and we hooked up my Unichip on his WRX and it worked fine. We then looked thru both of our car's wiring harneses and figured out that I had one of the wires in reverse. Sure 'nuf, it started with out a problem thereafter.

My next problem is that I've got two of the wires cut too short and need those connectors like we talked about. It's misfiring because I've got one of the wires not properly connected and runs like crap.

On the bright side (besides getting my car working) is that Chris said he likes my Unichip Custom program a lot better than his currrent Stage 0 I have no comment on that since I didn't drive his car so.....He said that he may get in touch w/you about that.

Thanks,

Todd

Glad to be of help, Todd! Hate to hear about the wiring problem, but at least you know what it is.

I've sent an email to Shiv/Joel to see what the main differences are between my map and yours. It may well have been my imagination, but your map felt stronger.

However, I threw a couple gallons of 100 octane in this evening and that, along with the cold weather this evening seems to have made my car pretty mean. I really need to get it to a track to see what it will do.
