Default Who Needs An STI When You Have A USDM EJ205 Tuned By Dave Brown And Clark Turner!!

First let me start by saying I've had Dave ( MSPT )work on my car many times but this was my first time meeting Clark. They are both great guys and did great work on my car yesterday at No Limit Motorsports. We had some issues with my AP and couldnt up load my base map so Dave and Clark took some extra time and basically had to start from scratch on a base map for the the car.

Heres the Mod list.
Stock 03 USDM EJ205
Stock 5-Speed ( With Exedy Stage 1 Clutch )

740cc injectors
Walboro 255
Turbo XS FMIC
AVO Turbo Inlet
Perrin Short Ram Intake
Greddy 18g 8cm^2
Invidia V3 DP
Greddy EVO 2 Cat Back
GT Spec header
GT Spec Up-Pipe
Tial 44mm EWG
SMC 50/50 Meth Injection
Greddy Profec B 2
AP V2

Well, Now for the good stuff.
Let me say This is by far the smoothest map I've ever run,
Peaks at about 22 psi and hold until red line!!

361whp / 360 wtq

Thanks, They actually stop at about 325 and told me to motor was loving it and could take plaenty more but they were a little worried about the stock 5-Speed. But I gave them the ok to push the tranny and just get the power the motor wanted.

The car is a blast to drive, The exedy clutch isnt much different than a stock feel, it all depends on the power youre looking for

Its all about the driver. 20k with my 18g setup, and I don't baby it. Just shift smooth from 1-2.

Before the 44mm EWG and meth I was at about 315 for about a year with no issues, I dont bang gears at all.
But at this power I dont think it matters how I shift anymore. Honeslty it doesnt matter to me because the car is amazing!!

Yeah...at that power level I would just be shocked if things held together. I drive hard but even the guys who drive soft break at that power. Impressed with those numbers. Took me a 20g to hit the 350+ mark a year ago.

Coming from an ape who had his butt raped, I can see why your tranny lasted 2 weeks...

The meth helped the torque.

very nice numbers.......thought it spooled way late but then noticed you have the 2.0L
nice regardless, and sadly id have to agree with the other guy: imo with that kind of power that stock tranny is on thin ice

I dont have all the print outs on it, but I remember the ball park of numbers,
Like I stated before we couldnt load my baseline map because my ap crapped out on us, so they basically started from scratch, But the first full pull we hit 280 whp...Then after smoothing it out and really getting into the tune we stopped at 325 I believe. So he picked up 40whp. That was without spraying the meth. First meth run we hit around 335 but the qtw increased dramaticlly. We then hit boost cut and had a little meeting on if I wanted to push the tranny. We decided to go a little further and the next run spraying got me about 350/350.....Then went for one more run since the car was asking for more haha. And hit the numbers I have now, about 362/360.

Just to give an idea, my dyno tune last yr with dave netted 317whp/ 300wtq.

So from my first tune last year ith the addition of an exady stage 1 Clutch, 44mm ewg and the smc meth kit we netted an increase of 45whp and 60wtq!!! And from the first baseline on Sat we picked up over 80whp and 80-wtq!!!I believe we actually had more left too, but we desided to quit while we were ahead

Nice numbers,... This will be similar to the setup I will be running after I am done playing with the TD04. Minus the meth and on a topmount though,... Anyhow enjoy the new power!

^^^ I dont think he had my map that netted 317, I was a little confused as well as I dont tune so I wasnt really sure what was going on. I know he used open source from what i understand this time because we really didnt have a choice, So once i get my ap fixed I will have to dl the maps.

All i know is they made a map before they really started tuning, and for whatever reason the first run was 280ish whp....I never said flashed back to stage 2, but those were my first numbers.

Like I said I dont tune, and i dont know much about it which is why i went with the user friendly AP.
All I know is what numbers the dyno read.

Maybe "start from scratch" were the wrong words to use. But for one reason or another we couldnt use my first map, so he had to piece some stuff together. ( and it netted 280)

Either way, I dont see many 2.0's pushing this power, especially on an 18g, so I thought people would be interested to see my results.
