Some of you might have seen my post like 2 weeks ago about my shot clutch. Well, i have had my car back for one week now with a brand new stock clutch. when i first got the car back, the clutch had quite a bit of travel in it before it was effective (there was no resistance until like 2 inches from the floor) Well, now, one week later, there is only like 1 inch of resistance in the pedal, and it it nearlly impossible for me to get the car into 1st gear - so hard that my girlfriend cant even shift it into 1st (any pretty damn hard to get it into 2nd and 3rd). Forget about reverse, the gears grind as if im not even pressing in the clutch. And downshifting from 4th to 3rd sounds/feels like i am power shifting rather that using the clutch. I dont know what to do.....i dont want to keep driving it, not just because its a pain in the a$$, but im sure it cant be good for the car. ARGH! If i What are some reputable dealers around the i-95/rt. 2 area (DON'T say Concord Subaru...there the reason im in this perdiciment in the first place) thanks in advance for saving my butt once again

it sounds like there could be air in your clutch hydraulic lines - try bleeding it a bit?
I have the same symptom on my RS-T - although, self-inflicted, since I swapped out my transmission for a Legacy twin-turbo unit. My clutch doesn't start engaging until the pedal is about halfway down. I'm going to try getting the remaining air of the system tomorrow. -Edwin |
