Default Spark plug issue

What problems or damage would be caused if any from a spark plug with a crack in the insulator ?

It won't fire correctly/reliably. That leads to poor mpg, high emissions, and more fuel in the oil, which puts big wear on the bearings, rings, and cylinders.
