How many people have a BD/BG with NO RUST???

Just wondering how many of us have a BD/BG with NO RUST without any body work done?

Rust check and spray doesn't count as body work. I mean like grinding, cutting, etc.

The reason I ask is because my dad and I have had 3 legacys in total: '95 BG, '96 BG and '99 BD.

They all have rust! BTW, I'm in Canada.

Can you guys please post your car including year and location.

'97 2.5GT, 193,000 miles or so, no rust on the body at all. I even have a big-ass flake of paint missing from my right front wheel well lip, probably about 0.5" x 1.5", been that way for a couple/few years with no rust. The cars been in New England (salted winter roads) and in Hawaii (salty sea air) with no issues.

I have a 98 Outback and have zero rust under or on it, even with the factory bug deflector rubbing my fender down to bare metal. Probably doesn't help that I live in California though, even though it's Northern instead of Southern.

I am in Eastern Massachusetts.

1996 Legacy "L" that I bought used from New Jersey... 193,xxx miles - NO RUST, although I see a hint of something bubbling the paint on one section of my rocker panel.

1999 Legacy "GT" Limited that I bought new in Massachusetts... ~ 75,xxx miles - NO RUST.

Thought i had no rust, but im starting to get the bubbling cancer on the corner of my hood. and than i noticed that my hatch near my handle is starting to bubble as well, sad day....

Had rust above the right rear wheel. Came from the inside out so once I noticed it it was to late. Ended up grinding it all out and glassing it in.

a 95 BG with 170K has rust on the bottom of front doors.

98 Legacy L Wagon. Spent the first 4 years in Chicago, the remainder in St. Louis.

I have multiple dents in my front fender where paint has peeled off and big sections of bare metal has been exposed for over 2 years now. Still no rust. I wax the car every now and then, but I'm still surprised that there is no sign of rust. I also have rolled my fenders, removed the fender lining and rubber strip, cracking the paint at the lip. 3 years later, still no rust.

Quite a contrast to the Honda Fit my neighbour has - they backed the hatch into something leaving a dent, and rust started showing up only DAYS later!

None for me. Folks in the Northwest hardly have to worry about this kind of problem, despite all the jokes about all the rain.

It is the weather? Or you guys probably rust proof your cars annually?

My 2 legacies are full of rust!

^^where you from....The salt that gets put on the road is a real killer to the cars.

i mean i wash and wax it here and there but nothing more than that....my car spent its first 60k in cleveland and the rest here in NC

He's in Canada, where I presume they use salt on the roads. That is the key thing that causes rust, along with living in coastal towns. Along the Oregon Coast, the cars seem to get rust from the salt sea air.

I have one little spot of rust on my A pillar. I have some rust stop sitting right next to me, and a plan to order some touch-up paint to try to make it look a little better.

When I had the White '99, it had no rust, no dents, that car was in the best shape I have seen an 8 year old car. But I just had to sell it to get 3x the horsepower.

My 95 BK has rust on the very bottom underside of the rear driver's side door, and also a spot on the fuel door because of that hole on the inside, all the crud just sits there and eats the metal from the inside out.
