people get stuck all the time in the stupidest places in park city. i had the stock all season my first winter and they did great. but the snow tires are just so much more fun, and i have a second set of wheels, so, no reason not to.

My snow tires are around 6" wide, summers around 9.25". I live up on the bountiful bench. There has been several days over the past few years where my neighbours have been stranded at the bottom of our hill.
I'm also from Alaska, which has snow packed roads 7months out of the year. Maybe its just habit now, who knows. |

I feel the biggest impact is in braking and stopping. I don't think the dilemma is getting stuck, but to keep from bashing into someone who "sucks" at driving.

No tire or drive train system will help you in breaking and stopping if you're driving like an idiot in the snow. Though if I have some cash to throw around I probably get a second set of wheels to have some blizzak and some summer performance tires so I can enjoy the car to its fullest all year round.

Never had an issue stopping with all seasons. Argument invalid. Drive slowerc stay farther away to allow time for more braking. Problem solved.

there's a pretty noticeable difference. it's absolutely valid.
without experience with both kinds of tires, i doubt anything else you post in here will actually be relevant. |

you don't have the koalifications to comment on snow tires if you haven't used snow tires.
![]() are they NEEDED, no. are they awesome and make your drive much easier/safer, yes. do they make you invincible, no. do you still need to have experience and ability to not drive like an idiot, yes. i would rather have snow tires than not have snow tires.. and i've always felt that all-seasons are basically **** in all seasons. |

I HAVE driven cars with snow tires. Not my own personal cars, but friends who were too drunk to drive. Did it help? Sure, I won't argue that. Did it make such a difference that I feel they are needed? Nope.
Live ontop of sincerest where it dumped feet if snow when it sprinkle a few inches in the valley. Never had a problem with all seasons. Quit being bitches. |

I wasn't aware that personal tire preference was such a touchy topic with people.
Sounds like this should be a tampon and midol hookup thread. |

I think this turned from tire hook up thread to "I can drive better than you thread". Anyway aren't you disappointed it stopped snowing now that you have those Blizzaks tires? lol Any secrect parking/spot you go to mess around in the snow? I want to drift around without worry about hitting a curb or someone else when it's snowing.

skyline high school parking lot is awesome. there's two big areas without curbs, separated by a cement barrier wall. so just don't hit that and you're good.
relevant post and selfless posting of this old video again edit: lol no wonder that thing blew up twice. Last edited by PCSkiBum_21; 11-28-2012 at 07:49 PM. |

I'll just leave this here, not targeting anyone specifically, just a funny pic I remember seeing on here years ago.

The radio plays music, but people change it out.
The wheels work just fine, but people get different ones. Car is fast enough, but people replace parts and tune to make it faster. Tires work fine, but some people like better ones. I didn't know that my car came with a specified approved upgrades contract from NASIOC. |
