Default OBD1 Impreza, CEL 33 Vechicle Speed Sensor

Speedo died this morning as well as the mileage tracker. Pulled the code and this is what came up. Ive done some searching and can't find a definitive answer. Where is this sensor so I can replace it? Just need to know the location, I can figure the rest out myself. Thanks!

You have a cable-operated speedometer/odometer. The cable itself may have broken, you can disconnect it from the cluster and see if it turns when the car moves.

Okay Ill give that a try thanks. Where is the output for the cable? Meaning it runs from the back of the gauge cluster to where?

Unless this cable is one in the same with the transmission speed sensor cable, is it? It might have gotten damaged when I put my transmission back in somehow, but my Tach still works just fine.

Yes the cable runs from the transmission to the cluster. The actual speed sensor is in the cluster, what's in the trans is just the gear drive for the cable. If you damaged the cable during a repair that may well be the problem.
The tach is an entirely separate entity and is 100% electrical, driven through the cluster by pulses from the ECU.

It turns out that the magnet piece on the speedo cable had come off, and I remember it being loose when I put my tranny back in (I do not baby this car in the least). Had to go to the dealership, but I swapped out the entire lower portion of the cable and it started working again. Thanks for the info!
