2008 WRX Recall ***Important***

Has anyone looked into the recall that Subaru just released on the WRX and Forrester! It sounds like any car built after November 1, 2007 is targeted for this recall. If you notice any engine knocking then you might have a problem. Here is the link below that I found.

There is no recall. There is a stop sale order for dealers.

i thought it was a stop sale order on any car manufactured on/after 1/8/08... can you copy and paste the pertinent info from the thread please?

I just got an 08 like 3 weeks ago would this apply to me???

It's just a stop sale, no recall. Don't worry about it until you get a letter from your dealer. There have been NO issues document in North America.

It is a stop sale on cars that have not sold yet, but if you bought a car that was built after January 2008, your car has the problem. So it is in fact a recall too. If your last six difits on the VIN end with 523363 or higher for the sedan, you are affected. For the hatch, it's 825183 or higher. Basically if your manufactured date was on 1/08/08 or newer, you are affected.

Even though we bought our WRX on 4/1/08, it has a VIN
of 513XXX, so I guess it's ok. Says it got built 9/07.
