Default OEM 02 RS Subwoofer installed in a 08 WRX Hatch possible?

I have an OEM rear under'seat subwoofer that I took off of my 2002 RS. I just purchased an 02 WRX Hatch with the Premium kit.
My simple question is: Can my OEM subwoofer work in my 08 WRX? Do the stereo systems share the same connection type? If not, what kind of modifications will be needed? Thanks

Since your other thread got closed, I ventured over here to try to help you out.

I'm assuming that the underseat sub from your 02 RS is like that from the 08, in that it has a built-in amp. Therefore, all it needs to work is a line-level (preamp) output from the head unit. I'm pretty sure that the 08 premium head unit has one as the 08 sub is plug-and-play, so you shouldnt have a problem. The physical jacks may not be the same, so you might have to rig some wiring.

Even if the head unit doesnt have a preamp output, you can get a line-level converter that taps into the regular speaker wires to convert the signal going to the speakers into a preamp output the sub can use.

This thread has way more real info aside from my speculation, and it looks like the situation may be a little more complex, ie the sub may need a speaker-level amplified signal from the head unit and/or might not have a built-in amp, plus i forgot all about powering the freaking thing. check it out, see what you can figure out, and maybe a few people here that know more about subaru audio will have better answers for you.
