Default I need some help

Over the last week I have started to notice a whining noise comeing from my passanger side of my car. The sound is related to the cars speed. the faster i go the higher the pitch and louder it gets, and its not affected by the engine rpm or changing gears.. So I ruled out motor problems and trans. I would describe the sound is similiar to the whine of straight cut gears but a little more muffled. I'm woundering if it the wheel bearing or cv joint? Anything else that I should check? Ive gone over everything visually and nothing is out of the ordinary.

how many miles on the car ??

my dads 03 2.5rs had rear wheel bearing noise after only 40k miles...

Do you drive the car hard??

WOT under hard corners does tend to put some stress on CV joints and wheelebearing...

but an 06 is pretty new still...

I just put 30k on the car. Dont really drive hard. Did a couple of doughnuts in the snow last year but nothing crazy. I did just get back from NH on friday there were a couple spots with frost heaves that were a bit rough that I hit at speed nothing that bottomed out the suspension and I'm lowered on Htecs.
