Thumbs up Perfect description of Pro ECM chip

Ok, I've had the chip in since Saturday and I have finally figured out how to explain what it feels like. You know when your car is running perfectly and the air temp. is perfect. You get that smooth touque'y feeling that puts a smile on your face. This is what the car feels like all the time with the chip. You feel the tourque. There is no flat spot in the power; it just keeps coming. It really is a good feeling. In cooler weather the car really pulls like a freight train now. It feels like the mods that I have came stock and work with the car perfectly. I am very impressed with the chip and would reccomend it to anyone.

thanks again Larry ,
Dolphin

Installation is usually about a hour to 2 depending. Taking apart your car to get to the ECU is the hardest part, unless your like me and the interior is straight gutted and you just have to remove the metal guard over the ECU.

well, i'm glad to hear that the hardest part isn't the actual hook-up.

does it mount somewhere or does it kinda just sit next to the ecu?

You could bolt it in somewhere, but I just ziptied it to the ECU... took about an hour to install.

good luck

Dolphin, what I'm really curious about is whethere or not the 00 ECU learns around the chip and you lose all the gains you have when you first install it. Let us know in about a month or two whethere it still has the same feeling or not, this is the thing I'm most concerened about with the chip. I don't want to spent the money on it, then have to remember to reset the ECU every month to make it keep working.

Default lame i know but.....

where did you get it, does it work for the 98rs and what exactly does it do, and of course how much? Oh and do you have to have any other mods for it to work correctly like a separate safc controler.....as you can tell i know nothing about hooking things up but it sounded like anyone could do it?

Hey ImprezaRS dot com.....maybe we can work out some kind of payment plan Or maybe I should just get one of those credit card things I hate those. Sorry for being off topic. On topic though.....would this have any negative effect if I also have a supercharger? Thinking about getting one in the near future.

HondaH8er - the chip disables the long term fuel trim so the ECU can't learn around it.

XROLLER - the chip is fine in a 1998, and if you wish you can still run a SAFC with the car for even more gains, but the SAFC wont help without a few mods - the chip helps stock or modified cars. Just ask Drac9 with his stock 99 RS and chip.

EvasionOfTruth - I am using my chip with boost, as are many others, so should be fine. However, your user ID says you are not trustworthy enough for store credit, sorry

I actually meant I could paypal some money everytime I get paid so I dont blow it on other things. Until I have paid the whole price. I wouldnt ask for credit. Thats one of my reasons of not having a credit card. But ummm anyway, I was just kidding.

Buster

PS--You will be hearing from me soon enough about buying one from ya.

Thumbs up

Cool, thanks Larry! That was my biggest concern, so if the ECU can't learn around it, I'm gonna have to get one. At least, as soon as I find a job.

P.S.- Still loving the intake!

Well, snail mail could put a damper on it - where is it shipping to?

Any order after about 10pm misses the boat to go out the next day, and ships the day after...

Larry, any word on what happened with mine? Did proECM forget to ship? If they did, how much would it cost them to overnight it, if that is necessary to get it by the weekend?

rob really wants it in the car by the next autoX...

Question Other models...

Larry,

This may sound like a stupid question so here it goes.

Will the proECM.com PowerChip PC2 work in an XT6? If it can/does, will it affect the operation of a Zex nitrous ECU?
