Default Mid swap Q. Will any "wideband" Subaru 4 wire front AF / 02 sensor work for newer ECU

Much of my experience comes from the older oxygen sensors so I need advice. In the past I've been able to convert between pretty much any sensor type to another (even from a 3 wire system to use a single wire unit!).
My current guess is that most if not all Subarus from my2000 and up use a the same four wire wideband AF sensor and the only difference between them being the harness length and electrical connector.

Background - I am currently swapping an 05 STI engine into a 98RS. The oxygen sensor was damaged and not included so I need a "new" one. The plan is to keep the engine completely stock.

With that said if any of you have a broken oxygen sensor with a plug that would fit the 05 STI harness I would be interested in the plug. (keeping it stock)

Can anyone suggest a better forum to ask?

As long as both sensors send the ECU a signal in the correct voltage range I wouldn't think there would be a problem. Worst case scenario is you would just have to buy a new sensor right?

I converted an 04 WRX front sensor to use the 05 STI plug but it doesnt seem to like it. I'm getting a low voltage DTC.
I haven't tried to troubleshoot yet though. A more pressing issue can be seen here http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...php?p=22081623
