Default remote

My remote for my 2001 broke off and now I can't find it. Anyone know a good place with a good price to get a replacement remote? Are they pre-programmed from the factory? Or does it come unprogrammed ready for me to program to my car at home?

I've noticed that my wife's 2004 has a rounded remote, while mine is a rectangle. Does anyone know if I can use the newer remote and vise-versa?

Thanks. That SubaruParts link helps a lot. My 2001 remote is

While the 2004 remote is

I wonder if they are interchangeable . . .
Thanks for the tip, SC2000. I'll look around on ebay as well.
