Default What do i need to instal an 02 trans(rebuilt w/ real gears) in an 04 wrx

I think im going to be installing an 02(with sti SE gears from gruppe-s) trans in an 04 wrx. What do i need to make this work. I heard i need the 02 axles because they will fit the 02 box and the 04 hubs.

I really don't have an answer to your question but I'd just like to know your motive for doing this. The 02 transmissions are the weakest.

I second that, I am doing the exact opposite next week thanx to a ripped 2nd gear..................Now its 02--->04 .And after I just had the tranny out for a new clutch. Now I will stand by for all the "You dont now how to shift comments".I guess just be careful and you will be fine. Good Luck

I would assume it's a direct swap because I have an '05 transmission in my '02 and everything swapped in just fine, axles and all.
