Default Possibly Moving to Kalamazoo

Hello MWSOC,

There's a possibility that I will be moving to Kalamazoo next August and I wanted to get a feel for the social climate and job market in the area. I will be following my girlfriend who is applying as a phd candidate at WMU. I have been looking into buying a house, and the housing prices there excite me. One of my main concerns is the job market in and around Kalamazoo. How's that looking? I'm currently an Operations Analyst and I would like to stay in the analytics/analysis field, but am willing to branch out into something where I can use my analytics/analysis skills. I'm not opposed to commuting as I was born and raised in Los Angeles. Driving 30-45 minutes is not a big deal to me, but at the same time, I've spend a month in upstate New York in the winter and I know how getting around in snow can be.

Thanks in advance, and I hope to see the locals in the future.

Just make sure you learn to love beer before you come here. Look at Stryker and Pfizer for jobs.

Fixed.

I love beer though. It's a passion of mine. I'm excited to get a new place with some space for my brew equipment. Apartment brewing is a bit frustrating.
