Make me a offer. A legit one, i dont respond to lowballers. Both turbos have approximately 2500 miles and have no issues.

I would go sways or tires if your still on those stockers. Then see if the market has improved on choices and prices of DPs and go that way. Unless you really need another 20-30hp and then go stage 2 ASAP. Be nice to that tranny though there is a '08 WRX already in the shop here. First gear is gone with only 240 miles on the car.

Wow only 240? Sounds like they have been trying to peel out on the pavement to much... Or they just dont know how to drive AWD. I replaced my springs with some STi pinks thats the only real suspension mod i have done besides the strut tower bar. I would like to get some new winter wheels but that just depends on how things are going to work out.

I dont know what they were doing wrong. I am pretty sure the transmission is the same used in the LGT. And thats a pretty tough transmission. I am no expert but i would probably feel comfy pushing about 300 whp through it some would even probably say more.

If you are interested in a turbo upgrade you need to be looking at a legacy turbo(vf40,vf46?) or a '09 wrx turbo(vf52). There are a few aftermarket turbos, but it is very limited.

You might as well start with the supporting mods as there are free maps on your AP for them. Stage 2 is a great improvement over stock on any turbo Subaru, especially with a pro-tune. You will be needing supporting mods anyways when it comes time for any type of turbo upgrade.

If you are still interested in a sti turbo let me know. I have both a '07 sti turbo and a '08 sti turbo for sale locally.
I'm curious to why this won't work. Tell me exactly what makes a vf40/6 work and not the vf48? I understand these are 06 and 07 legacy gt turbos. Why would they work and not the vf48? They look similar and have almost the same size. What warrants an intercooler change and an intake manifold?

Trippin is correct . your best bet is to send your turbo into deadbolt and have them upgrade it for you . They can do a ball bearing 18g . At least they used to do that .

They bolt up differently, ie you would have to swap these parts as well.

They dont look similar at all. Housing is completely different. The output is rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise and it bolts DIRECTLY to the intercooler on the WRX/Legacy setup. Take a look here. Do a SEARCH on nasioc for legacy turbo options and you will see there arent many choices. And yes I do believe deadbolt still does the upgrades. Or you can buy 18Gs and 20Gs made specifically for your car. It is a hell of a lot of work to get a previous gen turbo on the new setups. It wouldnt be that bad if it was only the intercooler as you need to change that tiny bastard anyways. But with the manifold change and associated issues you are better off just buying a turbo made for your car.

I found it informative. Actually, i would prefer longer drawn out awnsers gives more depth on the issue at hand.

I believe everyone has a different red '08 WRX in mind. Is your car a sedan or a wagon?

Does anyone know where to get the sweet nav/dvd systems they put in the new WRX's. I know where to get other ones (crutchfield) but i want the one that Subaru puts in? Online websites?

I got a fully loaded 08 wrx hb last night while BSM was doing some work on my car and that nav system was way too cool for school.

I see the turbo. It looks like that issue can be bypassed if you change the intercooler? Correct me if I am wrong but the stock intercooler probably has a different hose/inlet flange, so changing the stock intercooler to an older STi intercooler should make this work, correct?
