Hi guys! I finally found a Wichita section! My name is Stephen and I just moved here last week. I haven't seen too many subarus around compared to where I'm from. I drive a 2012 STi and would love to meet other Subaru owners in the area. Please let me know if you guys ever meet up for a cruise or just hang out, I'll be interested

I'm trying to get some other Subarus together also. Love the new STIs by the way. Nice choice!

Default Moving to Wichita

I'll be moving to Wichita this summer, leaving the Lone Star State. It looks like I'll have to retune my swapped '98L since 93 Octane is not available in the area unless I missed the stations that sell 93.

I also have a '93 GF8 Crap Can that I use for Chump Car and Lemons endurance racing. I'm not sure if I'm going to sell the car to one of my current team mates or try and start a team here. No racing experience necessary, but it does help. Wrenching is a requirement though.. And for those interested I have an EG33 and all the parts to swap from FWD to AWD. If I keep the car the plan is to do the swap after the move is complete and family is settled in.

Nope, you didn't miss anything; Wichita doesn't have a single station selling 93 octane. Best you'll find is 91.

Just what my searching showed, but thanks. Looks like I'll have to retune it before leaving Texas.

Doing a turbo, injectors and tmic swap this weekend. Anybody with injector experience that would be willing to come by? Heard they can be a challenge.

I won't be in Wichita for a few more weeks, otherwise I'd offer assistance. I did this on my '02 years ago and the worst part is removing the GBOD. Scooby Mods has several good write ups on this mod so I'd start there.

I'm new to Wichita and need some advice on winter tires. I have a feeling my performance summer tires won't cut it in the winter but don't know if a good all season tire would work or whether I need a true winter tire.

I know it's hard to think about winter in the middle of 100+ temps but trying to plan ahead.

I'll look at my tires later, but I'm pretty sure they aren't 'winter' tires or maybe not even all season. However they performed great last winter, probably better than any car I've driven (all FWD ).

That's because it only snowed once (maybe twice) last winter...You can't go wrong with a nice set of snow tires - assuming we actually get some snow this year.

My all season winter tires (Fusion HRi) have been enough to get around in the past, but they are definitely lacking bite of any sort on snow and ice. This winter I'm going with some Pirelli snow tires that I picked up last month.

Exactly...

Mine are Capitol Sport UHP. Don't know much about them - just that they came on it when I bought it.

Thanks for all the feedback. More than likely I'll go with all season tires as I can use my truck if it gets too nasty.

I have hankook all seasons on my winter rims and havent ever had a problem. Our winters here just aren't extreme enough to really warrant dedicated snow tires.

Hey everyone, my name is Josh and I just purchased my first Wrx. It is the white one that was up for sale in hutch and I'm looking to get involved in the Wichita chapter. If there's anyone that can help with me that shoot me a pm, or just point me in the right direction. Also another Wrx owner told me today to hit up Subaru of Wichita's website as there are about 30 owners that get together. The only thing is I thought that was the car dealership. Any help would be appreciated.
