Well, fun as I think it is, my wife hates the car with the TWE heads and exhaust system. It's a 1998 Legacy 2.5GT. Heads and exhaust were installed September of last year; I've put about 9k km on them (always with Castrol full synthetic oil every 3k km). Here are the specs:
- TWE Stage 1 cams - TWE Stage 1 port + polish - TWE 5-angle grind - TWE-installed new valves + retainers + springs - TWE equal-length headers - TWE high-flow cat section - TWE resonated midpipe - TWE straight-thru muffler section - Injen CAI So here's the deal. You've got shop space (or access to it), a Phase 1 2.5L stocker in good shape, a few grand and the need for ~60HP. We'll spend a week-end swapping heads and exhaust. You drive away with a hot N/A motor and a big grin, I drive away stock-ish with a happy wife and an aching wallet. I spent around $6k on this setup at the end of the summer last year. You can have it for significantly less, and I've saved you the trouble of breaking in the cams. If you want to head out to Rocket Rally with me beforehand to have the engine dynoed, I'm totally into that. Hell, if you want to pay them to do the swap, I'm into that too.I should point out that the Phase 1 kitted out like this sounds amazing and is ridiculously fun to drive. Yes, that's a header-back Techworks Engineering exhaust system and Techworks Engineering built heads. You know you waaaaaaaaaan'em.
