I bought this from a used car dealer a few months ago and sold my LGT to minimize my monthly debt and make it that much easier for me to get a mortgage. I think I might have gone a bit too aggressive in trying to find a cheap beater and miss my turbo Subarus almost too much to bear.

Anyway, enough with my personal BS. On to the car..

1999 Grey Subaru Impreza Outback Sport
~135,000 miles
2.2l NA Engine putting out ~140 hp (IIRC)
5 spd
Rims with all-season tires
Factory Subaru Alarm/Keyless Entry

According to Carfax, I'm the second owner. Also, it was serviced regularly at Subaru dealers (probably some old lady). I've given it one oil change after driving it for 3k and it's almost due for another. Every gear engages smoothly with 0 grinding and the clutch holds well. I had the drivers side front caliper and pads replaced a couple thousand miles ago. Also, the rear drum brakes are noisy so I had them checked twice. The first time by a dealer and again by Midas, both times they were pulled, inspected and cleaned. Though the car stops as if it were new, it still squeaks a bit in the rear at slow speeds. I also replaced the muffler and midpipe due to an exhaust leak (rust). It will now pass inspection with flying colors. I also had all the wheels rebalanced. The body has zero rust and the usual dings and scrapes for a 10 year old car. The interior is in great shape (again, for a 10 year old car) no stains, rips, burns etc. I can tell it has never been smoked in. The dealer I bought it from replaced the pump for the rear windshield washer fluid sprayer, installed new plugs and wires and a new battery. I had the A/C on the other day when it was 70 and it was cranking cold air.

The only thing that doesn't work well is the rear defroster.

It would make a great winter beater, daily driver, or project car. It feels light on it's feet and quick (for 140hp).

Book is $4,500 for one in decent shape.

Asking less than what I paid at $4,000 firm

i'm interested but would have to sell my '98 LGT first, interestingly enough it's probably worth about the same as your car.
how soon do you need to sell this?

I don't need to sell it at all so I'm not under pressure. I also have the title so it would be a quick and easy sale. Just let me know when you get your LGT sold.

Sweet.... I got my dad's van too when I was younger. It sucked ass but it was free. That was the car I traded in for my bugeye back in the day. Be prepared to be everyone's taxi.

I thought this car should be more popular than this, especially in the NE.
I put my OBS (same year, similar mileage, similar asking price) on craigslist and autotrader for a month, and got only one call.

Sympathy bump.
