Default Fuel Needle won't go move!

Back in December, my car was rear ended.
So I got it fixed (the car was hit out of state, fixed out of state)
But once close to about 1/5 of a tank, the needle stops there (and that's where it was, when I got hit also)
So I'm sure there's a damage with the fuel sensors.
But what to do to fix this? before I start tearing things apart

I can do that, but is there any other stuff I should do?
I rather try to narrow down the problem than to just replace the whole thing.
If nothing works, then I'll try replacing the whole thing.

there's got to be a fuel level sensor that's been damaged

are you trying to fix this yourself?

did insurance cover your accident?

if so... they should fix the car right....

call your agent and tell em the car is not right is not fixed....
