Give this link a try. You can download fairly detailed service and repair manuals for around $12.00.

we should perhaps do this together sometime (live nearby)... have replaced turbo, injectors, etc but never performed timing belt before.

thanks guys, one of my tensioners/idlers gave out the other night and as i was driving the timing belt started to slide off the top driver side cam pulley. i shut the car off after i heard some bad noises. it didnt skip any teeth and the noises i heard was the belt cutting through the plastic timing belt cover on the front of my engine. this was a pretty close call, i almost lost my engine

Sometimes it's good to err on the side preventive maintenance! How many miles did you have on that belt? Also, what brand did you decide to go with for the replacement?

Default Air Cleaner Element

Sorry - wasn't sure of the best spot to post this. But has anyone had smoking come from their Air Cleaner Element?

Wanted to know of the consequences of this, and cost for a repair?

Thanks a lot

i see this hijacking of the threads alot on here... this subject wont be exposed to too many people that would have some exparience on this subject since they are searching this thread about timing belt replacement...not smoke from air cleaner...

start your own thread and get some imput from people who may be having this problem or you can search and see what others thought about the subject....
